.info domain are getting cheaper and cheaper. Some of the registrars are even offerring them free for one year. I got some of my .info domain from domainsite.com for free. But appearently they are charging 0.99$ for one year now.
You can get them for free from www.domaindiscount24.com till the end of the month |

I think there was a hidden fee: a setup fee to link to your site. So it's not totally 'free'

I think they are doing that as a part of ".info" promotion campaign. I've registered one today, but actually that isn't working quite well, because it doesn't redirect users to my real site with another domain...

www.dot.tk There is a different b/w dot.tk and .info domain. The dot.tk is merely a redirecting domain provider., while domaindiscount24.com offers the real DNS service for free. This means that if you have the host but don't know where to put it in, domaindiscount24.com is the best choice.

Does the former can only be supported by the provider such as dot.tk, and could not be moved to other place and the real DNS could be placed at any place?

I got a free .info domain from domaindiscount24.com and thier were no hidden charges, its just a shame this free service is only available for 1 year. But by then I will probably have my own dotcom site with paid astahost hosting. To show you the .info worked you can visit and register at my site www.prodigyweb.info

Connecting To A Domain And A Workgroup
(7) I know this topic was posted some time ago but I could not find an answer. I have a portable PC
which is connected to a domain at work. I also have a wireless network set up at home with a
workgroup in order to share a printer that is connected to another PC on that network. I was unable
to connect to my home network using my work ID/PW which is associsted with the work domain but
logging in as administrator I could access the workgroup and share the printer. I understand that it
wouldn't be possible to switch from workgroup to domain and back without altering the s....
Backup DNS For Domain
(4) Hey, I'm not sure the technical term, but you know how domains have primary and secondary name
servers? Well, I know that when you go to a domain, it queries NS1.ASTAHOST.COM (for example if you
were hosted here) and if NS1 is down, it goes to NS2. Well, what I have a web server running on my
network and what I'd like to do is have it setup with a "Site Temporarily Down" message and then
if the server goes down for example.com, NS1 & NS2 also go down, have it redirect to a third DNS
server to redirect it to the server on my network with the "Site Down" message.....
Network Domain & Network User Accounts

just trying to expand my knowledge using my home network. Ok, I have a network domain

Server Domain (help!)

ZoneEdit.com. However, when you visit "floppydrives.cjb.net" you're taken to the document root
of "/var/www/html" instead of where I'd like it to go: "/home/user/public_html" I think this is
more of a web issue/server issue, so I apologize if you feel that this is in the wrong forum. If it
is, could a mod move it to where they feel it should go? Thanks! F....
Network Domain And Dynamic Dns
(6) Hey, I was looking through the config pages of my Linksys WRT54G router and found a Dynamic DNS
page and decided, what the heck might as well try it. Since I'm restricted to two services
(DynDNS.org and TZO.com) I tried out DynDNS.org and got a domain for my network. I also enabled
remote management so I can be at school or on the road and can check the status of my network or
remotely do something to the router without having to get the IP since Alltel DSL is dynamic which
is a real pain but since I can go days, I usually have the same IP for awhile unless the net....

dns adress and IP to configure a domain
