Can anyone help me with this problem I seem to be having with flash?? I know this is probably some stupid little setting somewhere I have to tweak but I can't find it. I'm trying to put a picture into flash on the canvas. I have a seperate layer for it. Nothing else is on the layer. Properties for the picture is set at 100 % quality. My publish settings are set at 100% quality for Jpegs and I've tried every setting I can find but the picture keeps displaying at a low resolution when I preview my movie. It displays fine on the design screen when I test it. But whenever I preview it - it just farts. I don't understand it. I have put tons of pictures of high rez images in flash files before and never had this problem. I had a similar problem with sound once and found like a third place to edit sound properties for the file I was working with and that did the trick - I imagine the solution is something similar but I am stuck.

well, i had this problem once, but i found that it was just the publishing settings. Are you certain you set up the settings correctly? Also, if you enlarge the pictures on the window, the quality will go down as well...though that doesn't seem to be the problem right now... Are you using Flash MX?

If you have it, open the pic in fireworks and save it as a .png It'll lose a small amount of quality, but I've found png files more usable in flash than gifs or jpegs. Also, test it by pressing F12. It is an actual published preview, rather than a scene/movie test. But, I could be wrong, so check your publish settings first. Peace Aaron

I am not sure what problem you are facing but I hope the following suggestion will help:- - Open your Flash Application.
- Locate and open the fla file.
- Open the Library of the fla file by pressing "Ctrl" and "L".
- Locate the jpeg file and right click to open its properties, change the percentage of compression setting to at least 80% or more.
- Locate the jpg file in your timeline and locate the layer.
- Delete the jpg file and reapply it again from your Library.
If that still would work import the jpg file again and make sure you have import the right jpg file with the right size.

I think the best way to import pics into flash would be to paste it there, then go to Modify > Bitmap > Trace Bitmap. A thing should pop up. If you want it to look realistic (the same), change the values to 10, 1, Pixels and Many Corners. That should make it so that the picture still look the same quality even if you zoom in.

I had previously tried most of the things everyone has suggested - and thanks for the replies. I have since fixed the problem and I'm still not really sure why it was behaving like that. It just seems that after I had published it countless times and couldn't find anymore settings to adjust it just started appearing normal. I don't understand why - you would think with a computer there would be some logical answer or a setting that I changed to make it appear ok but I don't think I changed anything. ......sometimes I swear I'm losing it, you know...... .............. .... .. .

Netscapenav Display Problem << Guru Help Needed
Homepage won't display with Netscape (2) Hi all, Heres the latest in the browser display problems. Updated my homepage via ftp. -(deleted the
old home page in the "www" & "public_html" folders & the ROOT directory "_sgt" & "_sgg"
folders..before ftp'ing the update). Verrified that all new homepage updates had the correct
"last modified" date (ie. the server was showing the newest version I just updated in all file
folders which were previously deleted). Homepage uses HTML with CSS & tables only- no php or
anything fancy. The only changes I made to the homepage were the addition of some metatags (ie. )

Flash Movie Loading.

got a little question about loading the flash movie on the website. In fact I made my website and
have inserted some flash movies on the main page. My flash movies are about 80KB. And while the
movie is loading it is white, but my website's background colour is black. So the question
would be: Is it possible to keep the movie BLACK while it's loading to the webpage, without

Rollover Menu Problems
After visited, hover doesn't work! (2) Here's my problem: I have a simple rollover menu, where the links light up whenever your mouse
is over one of them. It works fine. In the simplest sense, I used this CSS code: (in .css file)
a:link, a:visited {color:#000000} a:hover {color:#FF0000} This works! Yay! Okay. But when
I click on any of the links (it is therefore considered "visited"), the hover function doesn't
work anymore. The link becomes static (hover does not work anymore). And yes, I want my unvisited

One Of These Browsers Are Not Like The Other
Problem with display in Opera (8) I've created a text image (also known as ASCII art) on a website, compliant with W3C Standards
including CSS and only 2 out of the 3 Browsers I've tested display correctly. IE displays
correctly and Firefox displays correctly. Opera however doesn't display correctly, it's
quite oversized, seems to be a lack of support for CSS. Am I being correct in saying that or could
there be more problems. I've used Web Safe Fonts so that shouldn't be the problem, the
problem seems to be that Opera cannot display very small text, in fact lower around 1pt or....

How do I get rid of borders?? (9) Hey if any of you HTML wizzes out there could help me - I would greatly appreciate it. I am
designing some web site stuff with flash only. I know I know I should be using dreamweaver or

these link buttons for a livegate.net site I had going, until they shut down, and now I can not get

How To Display Clear Image On Web Site
(4) I uesed "image ready" to creat an animated gif and put it into my web site design. The problem is
when I pre-browse from image ready, the images effect is very good, the color is fresh and the
displaying is clear, but when I put it into the webpage and browse it from IE(Safari), the images

IE6 display:block hides other image BUG
(1) Hi everyone, I have a problem. I have two images, and one has the 3px IE bug. Turning this to a
block level element fixes it but then an image to the right disapears. Another fix I have tried is
an IE hack with -3px margin which makes the bottom line up but then the top is off. Here is the
