hotmail is build for ie wink.gif
may be that's why its not working properly and active x is not supported by mozilla smile.gif

but try to enable "block unwanted pop ups" or block all pup ups at the preference.

Weird, i never had that, are you using an old version of mozilla? I just checked my Inbox without any problems. Maybe you could try FireFox? That's a better browser than the one in the Mozilla suite.

firefox is just a browser which is inherited from mozilla, while mozilla have some additional stuffs like chat and more. it means firefox use the same engine as mozilla. yeah it's a wierd prob, i also din't encounter this one in my mozi. may be he is using a old mozilla or a night builds which is little buggy than the stable builds smile.gif

yeh, its probably because hotmail was built for IE and Opera, but i think if you have an Internet options in the tools button up the top toolbar, then go into it and find the pop-up blocker. whatever you do, do NOT download any of the "amazing popup bockers!" they will just give you more pupups and viruses! biggrin.gif

Hmm i think it has something to do with his installation or configuring of FireFox it self. Try downloading the new FireFox 1.0, if that doesn't solve your problem, try sweeping some spyware off your pc (anti-spyware progs like spybot or adaware). IF that doesn't help, then i think you should reinstall windows.

Have you tried upgrading to Firefox 1.0.2?

Its odd, I've never had a problem with Hotmail in Firefox (even though I don't use it much - Gmail is better!)

Hi all, Does anyone know where I can get hold of performance stats on how long Firefox take to open

1MB and found that Firefox just stops for about 5mins while it gets over the shock. I could go

Recently Windows Live Hotmail started to have some problems. First problem is that when I want to

Hi all, I have observed that there's a lot of difference in the rendering of firefox and IE.
The websites designed for IE that involve some sort of DHTM menus or some javascript codes don't
open smoothly in Firefox. I don't kbnow the reason. I have searched google a lot of times but no

  11. New Hotmail Interface In Beta
    (8)
GMail started the trend of offering huge email space. Yahoo and Hotmail followed. Now a similar
path is being pursued with something connected albeit a tad late - the user interface. No matter how
much space is offered, a bad ( or rather not too feature-rich) user interface might just send a
prospective user to the competition. Hotmail is currently BETA testing its new webmail interface
and is calling it "Kahuna". It's currently an invite-only test, so you need to be brought in (
shades of GMail exclusivity at work here ). At first glance, it looks like someone ....

    Who's winning the battle? (106)
Do you still remember the days when our free Hotmail and Yahoo mail inboxes were only a few
megabytes? 2mb for hotmail and 4 mb for Yahoo! Mail? With the entry of Google's Gmail which
offers 1 Gigabyte of free email storage space, the battle is set between all these free email
providers. Who do you think is winning? I remembered that Yahoo! quickly followed up with 250mb
soon after Gmail. I was using Hotmail, and I was conficent that MSN will also increase storage
space. But they didn't and I switced to Gmail which now offers 2 gig. Hotmail has only recently

  17. Problems With Mozilla Firefox?
    flash plugins etc (6)
Hi, I just recently downloaded and began using Mozilla's Firefox 1.6 as my web browser, but for
some reason, whenever I try to go to a site that uses a Flash plugin, Mozilla refuses to let me
download the plugin. I mean, it tries, but it never works. Does anyone else have the same problem
with Mozilla or have heard of this happening? its not that big of a deal, because I can still use
Internet Explorer, but Mozilla is just much safer in general, so I'd rather use that. Any
advice, answers or ideas would be very welcome. thanks in advance.....

  20. Other Browsers Besides Firefox?
    barebones (13)
I love firefox also, but I'm looking for a barebones browser that just basically has an address
bar and favorites. I tend to lean towards simple programs, such as Media Player Classic (
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.p...ackage_id=84358 ) which is a tiny little program that
can play almost any media type (music mp3s, ogg, wmv, etc...video's like .mov, .avi, divX
encoded, etc....images like jpgs, gifs, etc...). MPC is a "barebones" program so to speak - there
is nothing fancy about it at all, but it is a simple program that is extremely versatile. A....

  22. Why Does Firefox Look Like Internet Explorer?
    ... (19)
I've noticed how much Mozilla Firefox looks really like Internet Explorer. It seems that the
only thing they did was change the buttons, add RSS, and tabs. What's going on here? Even when
you right click, it looks the same as in IE. What do you know about this? Is this built off of IE

  23. Why you should switch to Firefox now
    The GDIplus vulnerability (27)
This is about a new flaw in Internet Explorer and how it renders one of the most common image
formats in the web, the "JPEG". The code that enables a hacker to exploit this flaw is out to the
public and therefore in a matter of a couple of weeks, we'll be expecting a new virus that uses
this exploit. The GDIplus DLL (Graphic Device Interface plus) or gdiplus.dll is only enabled in
Windows 2000 & XP. So if you're running on an older version of Windows and if you've
upgraded to XP SP2, then you're not vulnerable to this exploit. Read more about it here ....
