Consumer's Poll Ratings Of Diff Linux Distro

arkad
Hi,

I am trying to install a Linux Distro and convert to it from Windows. I was just wondering if anyone knows of a site that rates the different versions of Linux according to ::

1) Ease of Use
2) Ease of installing
3) Speed ( on slower PCs)
4) Support
5) Similarity to Windows GUI

I wanna konw cos my friends and I are planning to setup a new company on budget, and with Windows, it is virtually impossible to do anything cheaply.

Thanks
Edmund

Support is probably red hat. GUI similar to windows is KDE, any linux distro will run it. Ease of use is usually Mandrake, but there are other good ones, Ease of installation I have heard good things about SuSE.

www.distrowatch.com

thats a pretty good starting point.

Try and use Fedora Core 3. It has the latest version of KDE, good documentation, a lot of forums where you can ask, IRC based support and anything else you need.
I use Fedora since the first version (Fedora Core 1) and it is a very good operating system for home use (not recomandable for a real server, Debian rulez there). Easy to update, install, configure and maintain. Fedora Core 4 is already Beta and soon we will have a final release of Fedora Core 4.
