Connection To Ftp Server Resetting

For some reason I can't connect to my FTP server! It was working fine yesterday, but when I tried to connect a minute ago, it said it could not login. I made a new account, and tried that, and now it logs in with any account, but the connection resets. I use Windows Explorer as my FTP Client. Can anyone help?

Odd, I was working away all day with the ftp with no problems at all, I have just logged in and out a coupe of times and its fine here for me.
I would try using a "proper" ftp client like Bulletproof or Cute FTP, this was you have more control over the conection and you have more options to try different ways of connecting.
I would suggest switching between active and passive mode on the ftp connection, something I dont know how to do in Explorer because I always use Bulletproof for everything.

Is anyone else having problems with FTP atm?

No, my FTP is fine! I can access it through FileZilla and explorer just fine!

I also had problems.

I think its the uploading limit.
(I think astahost has)

Ok, turns out it was just my internet playing up. I couldn't access any astahost-hosted sites. It's all working now though, I can access my site fine, and yesterday FTP was working again. But All of a sudden, when I tried to access FTP just now, it timed out trying to reach the public_html folder, and now when I try to access the public_html or www folders, I get this error:

An error occurred opening that folder on the FTP server. Make sure you have permission to access that folder.

Details:
250 OK. Current directory is /public_html
200 TYPE is now ASCII
Can anyone make any sense out of this or tell me what's wrong?

Edit:
I downloaded FileZilla, and it works fine in that now!

Where you logging in as a user that did not have permissions for that directory (or were you logged in at all?)
Good to know that FileZilla is working for you, much better then Explorer! tongue.gif

    MYSQL service is bouncing connections (2)
    Hey guys there seems to be a problem with teh MYSQL service on Gamma..ITs giving a "Too Many
    Connections" error message to any request its being given at the moment..also I notice that the
    trap17 hosted server seems to have the same errors..is that gamma server too? On the server status
    page its listing as the MYSQL service as up and running and ok ..but its not.. I think it needs a
    reboot..hopefully this can be sorted soon.. Thanks!!....

    I keep trying to connect to http://www.mooreo.astahost.com (my web hosting account) and it says it
    can't connect. Just curious if it's down? Can anyone else access it. I deleted the
    index.php or .html file, but I haven't uploaded anything to it yet. I have sufficient credits.
    Any ideas? I read a previous topic about the hosts file, but why would that help? Any help is
    greatly appreciated. Oh, and just a curious question. Does astahost plan on upgrading to php 5.x
    and/or apache 2.x soon?....

    Is it possible to create a udp connection to a server on my standard astahost account?. I mean is it
    allowed in php? Or do i need to set anything to anything. I've found a script that queries game
    servers and displays their output to the site. When I run it on my own Apache server, it works (even
    for outside ip's). But when I use the same script at astahost it doesn't work :S.. Anyone

    Anybody using their own domains with astahost here like me ? When you create email addresses for
    your domain - receiving is no problem - you can connect to 110 directly by using your own domain
    name. But SMTP is missing. How do you send out mails using the email client ? Does anyone know a
    list of free smtp servers on the net ? I don't want to use my ISP's SMTP. Thanks

    I have added a little script which may ensure that cpanel, ftp problems and downtime are the members
    connections at fault instead. Whenever you have a major problem like Cpanel down, please do not make
    a post in support about it untill u have waited alittle while and/or checked out the Server Status
    Script . This will hopefully save un-needed topics being created in this and other forums.....

    I keep getting a message that states t101.astahost.com refused the connection, ive checked my
    software on my site and its fine, my computer is fine as it happens to all my forum members. I have
    a URL re-direct when you try to access my site, which moves you to a folder which i used and didnt
    want to change so its not hidden content incase anyone thought it was. the problem is not all at the
    same time but at seoerate times we all get the dreaded message t101.astahost.com refused connection.
    Is there something on the astahost end that is causing this.....
