The CPU says it comes with the Heatsink and fan. I don't know what lvl of cooling system I would need for this as well. ANy input is apreciated. Thanks! |

seems okay to me. The stock heatsink that comes with the AMD cpu's is actualy very good, they cool good at a modest sound production. The memory seems a bit overkill if you ask me, DDR2-800 is indeed faster than DDR2-400, but you won't realy notice it when you're working on it.

Looks like a solid compostion to me. About the cooling... You'll never realyl know until you've got the computer together inside a case. I've always thought that using the boxed coolers is the best way to go for starters It's safe as you've got the manufacturer's promise it should be enough and if you feel like you want more silent/effective cooling you can easily upgrade. And at least the last time I was processor shopping, the price difference between sole processor and the boxed one was marginal.

+ the boxed version usualy come with a longer warranty period (3years vs 1year or something like that), but actually, you'll only get those 3 years if you use the stock cooler and the recommended thermal paste ... like anyone does so  .

Computer Not Boot Up
hardware issue? (6) hi,, just today i cleaned my CPU fan and cleaned HotSink.. and after that my pc wont start.. fans
run in normal speed.. but not high speed (generally in startup for first 2 sec it run slow speed..
than run on high speed) and even my screen is not getting any ... like not attachend with my pc..

Computer Microphone
(3) I have a computer headset that connects to my sound card. One connects to the audio and the other to
the mic. They both work but the only problem is that when i use the mic the voice on it comes out
soo extremely soft that you would have to turn your speakers on all the way just to barely hear it.
I checked the software that came with my soundcard which is a soundblaster X16 Live card btw. I
just want to be able to turn the volume up on it so i can use my microphone. Please pst if there are
any questions.....

Computer Turns Self Off

Old Computer in need of a new OS
(15) Ok, well I have an old computer...it is a Pentium 166Mhz computer with 128MB of ram, a 20GB hard
drive, and a 2MB video card. I want to put a new operating system on it (i was thinking maybe
something in the linux line of things), and was wondering what people would recommend that would

Computer Bugs
I've never seen anything this primative with PCs... (9) My PC had been making strange noises and running slower, so I assumed it was time to clean the
fan/cooling fins. I opened the side panel thing to see cockroaches coming in and out of an open PCI
slot. So I got a PCI slot cover. When I moved the PC to my desk I found it look about like rat's
nest inside. Roaches were swarming the PC Fan, Cards, Disk Drives, Power Supply, etc. Probably
hundreds maybe a thousand. I've never seen so dusty a CPU fan in my life, the all the cooling
fins were totally covered in dust and crap. I cleaned the fins and the fan. Its runnin....
Building A System Capable Of Using Vista
(14) I will be building a new computer soon and want to know if the motherboard really decides if Vista
will work on my machine or not. I'm looking at a Intel 945GCLL Intel Socket 775 MicroATX
Motherboard and from what I found, it only will support Vista Basic Edition. I have read that
it's better to get Premium over the Basic Edition and I will probably do so in a few more months
when Vista is out for a while (probably with lots of patches released by then). Will Premium Edition
work if I install it? I don't see how the motherboard can be a really big issue here....
Computer Overheating
(3) I am pretty sure my computer is overheating as it averages 70 C when idling, after I cleaned the fan
out with a vacuum cleaner. I am not sure this is average for a 3.0 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor
but I'm sure it isn't as my laptop hovers around 40 C. The hard disk in it recently stopped
working and I was wondering if it could have overheated as well and if there is anything I can do to
restore the files off it or at least get the (or some) files of it. Any recomendations for a new
fan? I am looking to spend no more then AU$50 and would like a good fan that w....
Dell Computer "shuts Down" When Opening Email
(31) I have a Dell Optiplex GX 270 computer here and the problem is that it shuts down randomly when
viewing email in Outlook. It doesn't seem to do this when doing anything else online. Could a
network cause issue this kind of problem? I'm going to see if the other machines are doing this
as well. The funny thing is that the machine itself still seems to be running. The light on the
monitor is orange, but the computer's light is green and the fan is still spinning in the back.

Computer Suddenly Turning Off
Well it seems my computer doesn't like me. Sad huh? (28) My computer has been acting in a weird way for some time, and I don't remember doing anything
that could cause this hardware-wise. I'll try to describe it: After some time powered on, the
system suddenly *poof* shuts down in a harsh way. I press the Power button but it doesn't turn
on. Then, I remove the power cable from it's back, wait for some hour(s) and turn it on ok,

Adding More IDE Ports In Computer
(18) Hi, is there any way I can add more IDE ports to my computer? I'm building a computer from

Unknown Cause...so stumped! (23) So I have a brand new computer. Just bought it a couple months ago. It's an Intel 915GAVL

My Summer Is Ruined!
Please help, computer down (8) Ok, I was playing Age of Mythology on my computer and then suddenly my computer shut down. I had no
idea what happened. Me and my brother opened the CPU (the big rectangle thing) and started to check
each component. When we turn on the computer, there is nothing on the monitor, also, there are no
sounds, and the hard-drive is not spinning (guessing from it's sound). Does anyone know how to
troubleshoot this problelm? Or should I contact a computer-hardware shop for professional help?
