| | I feel that Adobe Photoshop is more suited to my own needs. Also, since I have been using Adobe Photoshop for a very long time, it is easier for me to use the functions in Adobe Photoshop than to have to learn how to use GIMP.
In terms of cost, it sort of doesn't cost that much especially if you purchase an education or student version of it.
In conclusion, I believe Adobe Photoshop is more 'professional' in its interface and functions compared to the more lightweight GIMP graphics editor. |

Gimp: Saving As... Issues
Anybody experiencing compatibility problems (3) Hi all you gimp users. I am wondering if you are experiencing problems with your images created in
GIMP as I am. We here is my story. I take pictures with a camera and upload them to my computer with
a the camera software. Nothing is changed yet. Then I go to that file location and open the image or
a copy of the image with GIMP. Then i edit it, add layers, and tweak various settings before saving
it to .XCF (native GIMP format). Then later I was to export it. I do so as JPEG or TIFF. The
problem is whatever I create/modify in GIMP, I seem to have trouble opening it ba....

art applications (16) I use Gimp 2.............on a IBook......I use to have alot of art applications.....in OS 9.0, but
in OSX I have not bought any yet, and I may not ever now that I found GIMP.......For basic artm and
photo editing it works great......I have not tested all the export options but for web work it seems

Plasma Effect In Photoshop
Done in CS, but should work in other ver (7) This is a tutorial to create a plasma background effect. We are trying to get with a few filters.
Step 1) Press 'D' to reset your colours, choose linear gradient, uncheck all bozes, black
to white, and go crazy. Step 2)Do a wave filter (filter>distort>wave) and hit randomize a few
times. Step 3)Press ctrl+j(duplicate layer) and repeat step 2 on the duplicated layer. Set layer
belnding mode to lighten. Step 4)Repeat steps 2-3 once. Step 5)Press ctrl+u, check colorize, and
change colour! Congratulations, now you're done!....
I Need A Few Tips On Creating Brushes In Photoshop
For Photoshop, that is... (5) Umm...need some tips and guidelines for photoshop. Im not very good because , mainly , i dont use
brushes. I use only filters. All the brushes that i have are alright...but im interested in creating

Opinions? Is it worth the upgrade? (13) I know I'm a bit slow about this, apparently it was released on April 5th, but does anyone have
any opinions on just specifically Photoshop CS2? I currently own Photoshop CS (bought it at
educational pricing), and to buy CS2 as an upgrade will still be around S$299, which is quite a bit
for me... Looking at all the new features didn't get me all excited, except maybe the
WYSIWYG font preview (which is super overdue, I think), and the new and improved file browser called
Bridge, and MAYBE the whole Vanishing Point thing (which I don't forsee myself using....

Photoshop 7 and TGA files
(3) When I first got PS7, I was blown away by the powerful functionality. But I soon realized that they
completely ruined the TGA format. I could no longer use the alpha channel the way I could in all
other versions. So after a little bit of digging, I found these fixes on adobe's website:
