recently started showing a blue screen while starting ..

Initially, if I restarted it would not come the next time. It used to come only randomly.
But later it started coming more often, and now it did not start for quite a few times consecutively.
Anybody knows what this is and how to solve it ?

HI, Without seeing the full statement I would suggest that this is probably a hardware error of some sort..haev you installed something new recently? updated a driver recently? Or it could be a dreaded memory problem;( Paste the full msg your getting into here and I will track down what the problem is.. Marky

There are two ways of thinking. 1) You suppose that it's a software problem. Let's see if it's a real software problem. Try to boot several times from a ms-dos disquette, or on a Knoppix Linux CD. If you have no problem with ms-dos or with Knoppix, this means that your Windows has a problem and has to be repaired (several solutions, we will see furtherly). 2) Let's suppose there is a hardware problem. I suspect a newly added device which really has a bad IRQ. Then, I would suggest to open the box, and remove everything not mandatory(only leave the disks, CD's, keyboard, video adapter and that's all). Try powering up several times. If you have no problem with the vary basic configuration, add one device (let's say Ethernet adapter) and try again. If this still works, add another adapter (let's say the USB mouse). and try again. Untill you see the problem ocuring again, then remove the last added device, you found the faulty device.

I've had that error three times tonight, but I've been on now about 15 minutes fine. I havn't added anything reccently, but I'll probably do a virus scan overnight. Also, I couldn't seem to get the option to boot into Safe Mode.

If you've recently added new hardware to your system, try removing it and see if the error goes away. Yeah, I left the computer on overnight to do a virus scan and my mum could smell very faint burning smell, and it only has 384mb RAM. Is the best option to personally clean out the fan? Or to buy a RAM stick? Bugger, thanks.

check that your fan isn't clogged by dust, make sure your PSW and the rest of your chassis have good ventilation and most of all, be sure to know where the burning is coming from. Also, check that your RAM are exactly the same. For example, don't put a PC2100 RAM with a PC3200!!! xboxrulz

I had the exact same problem with my AMD 64 system, right down to the faint burning smell. It used to be an intermittent issue but is now consistent. I have tried removing everything except PSU, HD, MOBO\CPU, and Video Card..still occurs. Back when it was intermittent I ran an extended Windows Memory Diag and it found no problems. In the BIOS it shows CPU temp as 41 C.

^ I have encountered this error before. My problem started when I installed a software then immediately used it without restarting my PC. What's worse is my PC just restarts randomly. I disassembled my PC, cleaned up the peripherals (CPU fan, power supply, cards, etc) but I'm still getting the error. So I just uninstalled, re-installed then restarted my PC. Since then my PC worked fine. I think you should trace when the problem started. Most likely this problem is a result of newly installed hardware/software.

I have the same problem,2 days ago y was playing Combat Arms by Nexon(a good FPS shooter :) ) and Vista appear a BSOD , I could write the error because my system get reinitiated ,in next day my bro tryed to use my computer and my system got froozen, I tryed to adjust my sound card and vista start to works,but in this day I tryed to use it ,when my system appear initiating other bsod saying IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL,at other reinitiating it works,I'm using my computer ¡this! HELP ME!

Most of these problems occur with AMD chips, technically, these chips are defective or became defective. Try replacing your CPU, and a more powerful HEAT SINK, also try to replace your memory. Better yet get an Intel chip not AMDs like Quad Core, or Dual Cores. Intel Chips do not have those unstability problems.

I usually keep all my drivers updated. Especially graphics card drivers since they often provide a greater performance than the drivers preceding them. This holds especially true on Linux as both NVIDIA and ATi drivers are still a work in progress. As for DirectX 10, I think everyone can agree with you. There are things I like Vista, but the things I hate about it outweighs what I like about it... oh the conundrum. I need 4GB of RAM to run the system smoothly, I can do that with 1GB of RAM on Linux. Now when I'm on the Linux partition, it's like an out of control rocket when it comes to loading things (unless I'm running a virtual machine at the same time). xboxrulz

I agree with yordan, it isn't really neseccery to update your drivers the day it comes, if the system is working as it should with the drivers you got, when stay with it, unless you read some reviews or want new features they offer.. To make it off topic, I really hate that directx10 is only for Vista, because I don't like Vista, I know the tactics to not make it work on XP, but seriously..

I can't get it to work (3) I have a 2.8 Dual core machine with a 17 inch monitor, 2 hard drives, a dvd burner, and a 350w power
supply. I have an 800w rated UPS, which according to the paper is supposed to give me around 8
minutes of power during a blackout. This is more of an issue than for most people, as here we have
an average of 8 power cuts a day during the 8 or 9 months of summer weather. The problem is that my
UPS doesn't really help any, because in a power cut it will go off as well for a second, and
then it comes back to life, but in that second my computer has gone off, and even tho....

Windows webkit based browser! (19) I just made a search for a KHTML based browser on Windows OS and found one project which wasn't
updated since 2004 to port KHTML to Windows, but through Wikipedia I found Swift, the current
version is 0.2, I just downloaded it and tested and was amazed, that it shows the pages very well,
even sometimes they break and the GUI itself needs to be updated, what you want, it is version 0.2!
For all the web designers and people using Windows it is a good practice to see how their pages look

Need Some Help With Starting An Old Computer.
(4) My younger (mentally challenged heh!) brother got a PS2 a couple of days ago and hasn't touched
his computer since. My mum wanted me to start it up for her to do some online research for something
and it just refuses to start all of a sudden. Basically no matter what I did only (sometimes) I

Windows: Cant Return From Energy-Saving Mode

When I touched the mouse to get the screen back on(like always) nothing happened. I heard the

Buying A Computer
