Yes, Norton Ghost is a good backup software. Especially Norton 10, which allows you to easily restore the backup hosted on a Windows or on a Samba/linux fileserver. You can even use it to backup a multiboot Windows/Linux system, simply remember to backup simultanoeusly the windows system partition as well as the Linux / partition, the swap partition and the /usr partition.
my school uses it all the time! when a computer decides to corrupt itself (or more likely, a student decides to play around ) we can simply chuck in a usb stick, and re ghost the hard drive image, with all the software back onto the computer, and it only takes a few minutes!
