Avast didn't protect me the last time I had a virus hit and I had recently updated it too. AVG is not bad! P.S: I hate all antiviruses.. they slow down the PC and just informs you of virues and worm but never seen any repair any.

Avast! is absolutely good... Make sure you'll get great protection for free. It looks like a paid software, but coasts nothing, by the way. Be sure it's a good option

Avast detected 10 viruses on my PC, that Mccafe or norton couldn't even mark as viruses. Antivirus applications are written with certain algorithms that may hit or miss a virus, so its more about whether an antivirus app has a majority of those algorithms or not. I think avast is good, but all the others (AVG, etc.) are equally good in some other areas.

both Avast and AVG are very good anti virus programs. Norton is simply useless. Quick tip, some viruses on the market were actually made by symantec inorder to boost sales by saying that they had the only software that could protect you from it. I've actually seen Norton identify itself as a virus.

Annoying Virus!
Need help. (9) I have this strange virus on my computer and McAfee does not detect it. It does not do anything
harmful. What it does is that, when I am going around 'my computer' and accessing files I
get this very annoying message saying "your computer has a major virus. Please click yes to download
the antivirus". It just pops up when I am in 'my computer' and when I am in 'windows
explorer'. When I click yes they tell me to buy this antivirus program which I think is
completely crappy. Even McAfee does not see this bug as a virus as it does nothing harmful ....

How to do this??? (2) I now own a new laptop and the Retail 60 or 90 day trial of Norton anti-virus came per-installed.
Piece of carp. And I want to install a different Software, probably the One M^E suggested in

Security as simple as it sounds? Simply use the uninstallers and delete the folders from the system
