New: Astahost Irc Channel

HI all,
This is probably the first public announcement of the all new AstaHost IRC Channel that has been opened up recently to give you realtime help with your Hosting Issues & various other problems at AstaHost.

How do you get there? Simple. First you've to download an IRC client - the best out there on the net is probably mIRC. Get it at: www.mirc.com

Once you have that fire it up and type /server irc.dal.net - that'll make you join the server on which our support channel is hosted.

Next, type /join #astahost - that'll place you into our channel rightaway.. It serves as dual purpose - as a realtime support mechanism as well as a gathering place for all astahost members. Also featured in the channel:
1. Live weather reporting on any city in the world
2. Live news feed from LinuxNews.Com
3. Live news from CNN.Com
4. More to come...

In case you can't connect to irc.dal.net (like me), here's a list of other servers that you can connect to, but still end up on the same dalnet network. The bold ones are the ones I usually use and succeed in connecting to.

    I have been having trouble with astahost for the past few days but now it is worse then it has been.
    I think I may have gotten banned but I have enough host credits. Whenever I go onto my website or
    cpanel (or anyone else’s website that is hosted on astahost). I get: The domain "www.

    Well its been about a week now since i havent been able to access anything hosted on the gamma
    server (including the gamma.xisto.com address) and its starting to annoy me. my brother "co-owns" a
    site hosted here and he hasnt been able to go on it or anything so he told me to ask about it. So
    it was when i was uploading EZ Publish (via ftp) to my site it happened. after like 500 files it
    lost connection and wouldnt connect. later on i found that i couldnt get on my site or cpanel
    either. i then went on my best friends site hosted here and couldnt access it so i went on o....

    Quick question about advertisements on Astahost. I don’t remember reading anything in the TOS that
    advertisements were banned but I have a feeling that they are. Either way I have reported several

    Well I have been here at astahost a while now, and after being a member of the forums, there just
    seems something about them that doesn't quite make them as enjoyable to be in. To me it seems
    like the forums contain a lot of posts that are very repetative, even many topics that seem to
    repeat themselves... To me it seems like maybe there should be some more moderators, and the
    moderation should be stricter than it is. I just don't find it as fun to participate in a
    community where a lot of the posts seem to be spamish... Does anybody else feel this way?....

    Hi there! I was just trying to access PHPmyadmin in the cpanel, but it told me to use the right
    username. Took me 2 minutes to figure out: No users, no databases set up. My site can't access
    it either. I had full databases installed and used them 2 hours ago! Ok, this is the third time in
    one week, that I have severe inaccessibility problems with astahost.. CUT I just tried again and now

    Ok I was just wondering...do to a lack of time these days I've been a bit lax in my posting
    here. This is do to the fact that I am now working again and have a serious hit to my available
    internet time. Now the question I have is this...if I can find a way to afford to move over to
    Computing Host can my site be transfered over to their servers or will I need to rebuild it there?
