The Asian Games Developer Summit (AGDS) 2005, held recently in Kuala Lumpur, was the first such event in the South East Asian region.

Some of the games biggest names were there such as Mike Dunkle of Valve (the creators of Half-Life and Counter-Strike), and Obsidian Entertainment’s Chris Avellone, who is the designer of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II (KOTOR II) and Neverwinter Nights 2.

Their advice was "The first thing an aspiring game developer should know is game development is not just about fun and games."

What do you think about game development in Asia?
