Wait, before we go on we have to get one thing straight here. You are NOT getting 20gigs of web space. Only 20 MEGS (megabytes) of space.

To answer your question, we have to know how you are recording the movie clips (if it's being recorded). If it's high quality, the size will be bigger. If lower quality, then the result will be a smaller file size.

So how are you recording/getting these movie clips?

For DVD quality MPEG-2, about 1 MB per minute of video.

So your starter account would hold 20 minutes if no other space was used.

But, this is not a file sharing website, it is for website hosting. Please be sure that you understand and follow the rules here.

you'll do better if you can use some sort of video compression. the clips on camera aren't always the best compressed. if it's just for personal clips and you're not concerned about the high quality or large pixel size. even movie maker is pretty good at that. though if your camera records to the .mov format you'll run into problems. but otherwise you can specify size, quality, what connection you want to optimise the video for, etc. you can get anything from 256k to 3MB per minute size. fiddle around and find a compromise between size and quality that you're happy with.

You could try to choose .wmv-format instead of .mpg or .avi, that would take much less space and might be better for users with slow connections. In Windows XP you can create .wmv-files with the "Windows Movie Maker".

Along with all those things suggested above about file compression, if you were still having problems with your available space and bandwidth, then you could consider having the movie files hosted elsewhere. That way, you could have your site with all its html, css ahd what have you hosted at astahost.
If you wanted people to be able to see your movies, you would only have to embed a link to them from your astahost site.
This would work in much the same way as using a site such as photobucket. Except instead of using it to host you images, you would be using it to host your movies.
I have done things similar to this in the past with flash sites. I've had a flash object internally link to mp3 and mov files that were hosted elsewhere.
The downside of this is that the time taken for the user to access the files may be increased (as hazeshow pointed out, you could use .wmv to counter this), but you wont have to worry so much about your bandwidth/space problems at astahost.

Cocoanut, what sort of video are you putting up on your site? As you know, depending on who is watching the clip, a minute can be quite long. You could experiment with the clips and make them shorter and still get your message out to those who are watching.

Don't forget that there are still people on dial-up connections and waiting for a long video clip can take them so much longer. If they have to wait for a long clip, they might just click and head elsewhere.

I've been told that an audio clip also equates to about one mb per minute, so I guess having audio wouldn't make much difference on your site.

Don't forget to share your url when your site is up and running.

As already mentioned, it all depends on compression and video quality, but as a general rule, i usually go with 1MB - 1 minute for my video work (but i also use a high qulaity standard).

Now If i have a lot of video, and expect a good number of people viewing the clips, you'll be eating up a lot of bandwitdh quickly.

500/20 = 25

So if each visitor views each video, you can get 25 visitors before hitting the bandwidth cap.

If you want to archive the videos for view, you'd probably be better off hosting them yourself and pointing people to your own personal server.
