BuffaloHelp told me about AEF in the shoutbox a while ago now so i thought id download it and try it out.

If you want to see it, ive uploaded it here.

its only new i think but its one of the best free forums ive seen. i thought phpbb3 was the best you could possibly get for free but i think this just proved me wrong. i think the AEF development team have done really well.

i recommend this if you want a good free forum!

i also found another nice thing, down the bottom it has these buttons that like get bigger when u go over them, its so cool, lol.

the default design is also really nice, as soon as i looked at it i thought of media player 11 for some reason.

    I am trying to decide which forum software I should install for my site. I need something free
    (obviously) and I need a good choice. I think phpBB works great but I am also interested in trying

    Hi friends, I am creating a forum using ASP and SQL Server. For this we need a
    WYSIWYG Html text box ( You can say it Rich Text Editor ). It should be like the one used in
    Vbulletin forums for posting/replying to a topic not the one used in IPB which use BBCode. I have

    Well, today Ir elised more than ever that my beloved SMF is still the best. Today I was doing some
    tests of the new ->SMF convertors, which are amazing in their selfs, first all you need to specify
    it the old forum location and the new location, and it will find the database settings and
    everything by itself, once its got the data it emptys the SMF forum of its data and then moves the
    old data over. If the server load is going to be too large, it does it in small chunks, I think its
    500 messages/members/stuff at a time, so large forums will take a while, but the server ....

    I'm currently a moderator at 2 sites, this one and a sportscard trading forum (over 7000
    members, but I think only about 1000 are pretty active). At both sites, I've only became a
    moderator this year. Its a great learning experience in learning how to manage forums. Both have
    quite a bit of responsibility and require good decision-making skills. But has anyone ever heard of
    any forums that pay their staff anything? Just curious.......
