Wow thx for the site and the corretion cause I bought my laptop with vista and I decided to put xp on it cuz I totaly hate vista? (are you shure? click continue... Are you shure?) that get so annoying so I sswaped the hard drives for xp and I have been looking for acer arcade for like 6 months lolz but thx again cuz I love watching dvds. You are right iGuest, these so many confirmation messages of vista when you try to do anything are really annoying and it drives me crazy. Hope they do some changes for that in the SP2, as vista to me seems better than xp for many other things.

I recently bought Acer Aspire 4920 with vista included.

There is no much help at acer website, but for any updates or re installation you only can access from your computer by going to windows mobility center. Thats why I have to keep everything intact. And maybe thats the reason why don't provide website help. Hope they will change this policy.

Now am looking for help to bee able to watch avi, mpeg, and pars2 files on acer arcade or vista media player. Should you have any suggestion, pls let me know>

First let me thank you that NO registration is required here - how refreshing!

I bought an Acer notebook. It has Acer Arcade, but darn, when I try to find videos I have made it take me everywhere (folders) except where I want to go! It doesnt have a proper menu to be able to browse for what I want, just pops up folders to choose from, none of which are correct. Help! Is there a manual online somewhere.

Acer's website is probably one of the worst I have ever visited.

Oh yes I have Vista system.

I bought an ACER Aspire 6920, Vista I tried the upgrade, during the install I got an error mesage, a file could not be found, all I could do is pre the ignore button, now I am at Version 2.0.5814 and I cant wach a Blue Ray Dvd it seems to crap out just as the movie is about to start, I can see the previous and the big fedral warnning. I tried to change the vid setting, nothing works. Help!-question by adrian

I do hope it's okay to ask here as I'm really starting to hate Acer and I REALLY want to get this damn problem fixed. I am by no means a computer literate person, in fact, my dad bought this laptop for me some time ago and I have only just started using it while on exchange. All I know is, the operating system is technically Vista (how I loath it) but my sister's bf fixed it up so it looks somewhat like XP. The laptop is a Vista Aspire 4920.

What I have discovered recently is that the DVD drive does not register at all when I put a disk in (normally something would pop up like a window or options right?) When I go to my computer it simply lists the Acer (C drive) and Data (D drive). The same for device manager under disk drive. I asked my somewhat computer savvy sempai to have a look and he believes there is no driver installed. He tried to search the net to see if he could find a download (suitable for vista?) but couldn't get anything.

I have now asked my sister's bf for help but he is kind of busy and is back home so it's a little doing things from where I am now. He thinks the problem is as listed on this page:

CD/DVD filter driver. When you restart the computer, the CD drive or

I followed instructions to remove the filters for DVD/CD from the registry but of course, having deleted them, I surely need to replace them? (But from where? How?) There was an upper filter entry but no lower filter...

I am left pretty much in the same fix and this time I have no idea what I should do. Thus I would like to beg some help off anyone who might know a solution.

Acer 5515 built in webcam help

I have an acer 5515 laptop with the webcam built it, it originally came with vista home, it didnt come with a restore cd it was on the harddrive when I bought it, my daughter messed it up some how an wiped the harddrive, I have since been able to install vista on it an the drivers for everything except the ones for the webcam or the software for the webcam, if anyone can help me on this I would appreciate it . Thank you
