I was reading the paper today about a man in South Korea who went on a 50 hour binge playing World
of Warcraft and died of heart failure, caused by dehydration and starvation. Can video games become
so engrossing that it numbs all effects such as hunger, thirst, or pain? It's hard to believe
that he would not grab something to eat after playing for a little over 2 days straight. The

I have a few questions: Is it worth it to play maplestory or runescape? what is the object of each
game? How do you play? what does it require? if you have played it, did you enjoy it? is it
time-consuming (as in, you must be on at least once every other day to keep up with the game)?
i'm curious and thinking of playing....

Hi, i've got a dell dimension 3000 computer. I wanted to upgrade the motherboard so it could fit
a PCI-e graphics card. Unfortunatly, i found that the dimension 3000 doesn't take well to be
fitted with another motherboard. Im running with a Geforce FX 5200 128MB graphics card, and wonder
if i shouldn't just upgrade the CPU from a celeron D 2.53 Ghz to a Pentium 4 3.2Ghz HT. Is the
Geforce FX not good enough for gaming, or will it be ok and i can then just upgrade my cpu?

Well simply, I am wondering how people have gone about getting their "perfect" sensitivity. I would
like to think mine is close but I still have a fair way to go before it feels "right" for me.
Coming from Natural-Selection (Fast-paced FPS game where you need a high sensitivity) to
Counter-Strike, I had to lower my sens by a lot. How much does that mean? Well, I would measure my
mouse sensitivity by putting my wrist centered on my mouse pad and then turning it in one direction
(usually right) and from there, guess the degrees turned. For NS, it was 300 degrees in a sing...

It seems that no matter how much I google it,, I cannot find a good free mmorpg for mac. Is it
really that hard to port things to macs (really, is it? I know little of porting)? There's
always runescape, but it's full of idiots that will call you a noob just for being a slightly
lower level then them, and who wants that? There /was/ planeshift, but when they upgraded, it's
like they forgot about the mac version or something. The forums on their site /says/ there's a
mac version that runs now, but I can't get a hold of it, and the one in their download...

Hi all, I'm hoping someone in here has got an ASUS G70 17" Extreme Gaming Laptop (the one with

Ok here is a challenge to all the hardcore linux folks out there. I will greatly accept the switch
if it can be proven that Games will run as good under linux as they do under windows. Im a windows
guy at heart, but I do work on unix systems at work. Im a gamer, and that will never change. I had
switched over to linux about 4 years ago, and I couldnt play crap on linux without dual booting to
windows. (I think it was Wine emulation they were running under) Now have there been some
improvements in being able to play windows games smoothly on linux? If so, please let me...

I am looking into buying a new gaming pc, but I want to keep it under $1500, but still have a lot of
good stuff. The only money saving things I can figure, as I am not really into computer hardware,
is to use a CTR monitor instead of an LCD, lol. So, what hard drive, processor, motherboard, ram,

Before I start, I want to make something clear. I do not believe that the following is an excuse
for the increase in violent crimes and attitudes. I do believe that it is one of the fundamental
factors, brought on by the irresponsibility of game creators. For at least the past 10 years,

moderator I kinda get sick trying to keep an eye on all the crappy posts that mainly new

play popped up the colors were messed up and froze couldnt use ctrl alt del so i had to turn my comp
