Dr. Seuss Explains Why Computers Sometimes Crash
- (4)
Just a little something I came across that I found pretty clever. Enjoy! QUOTE If a packet hits
a pocket on a socket on a port And the bus is interrupted at a very last resort And the access of
the memory makes your floppy disk abort Then the socket packet pocket has an error to report. If
your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash And the double-clicking icon puts your window in
the trash And your data is corrupted cause the index doesn't hash Then your situation's
hopeless, and your system's gonna crash! If the label on the cable on the table a...

I like to share our broadband modem and access Internet from the second computer. The 2 computers
are not connected to each other. I am considering setting up a network of these 2 computers using a
wireless access point and 2 wireless network cards. I assume the access point and the braodband
modem will be attached to one of the computers and the other computer will be able to access
Internet through the access point. Is there any other way of sharing the modem eg. using adapters/
extensions, like sharing the telephone line? ...
How To Use Grid Computing For The Benifit Of All
- Computers May Find The Cure For Cancer (6)
Grid computing is a method of solving complex mathematical equations using several computers at the
same time. Here's how it works. Special software is installed on a server and the complex
mathematical equation is loaded into the application. Then client software is installed on several
computers connected to the server via LAN, WAN, Dial-Up, or Broadband. Once the software is
installed, the client informs the server that it is ready to start working and the server sends a
piece of the equation to be computed. Once the client finishes the computation, it return...

Scientists have developed the world's tiniest refrigerator - and it's pretty cold too.
Even smaller than a college dorm fridge, the microchip sized fridge can cool objects down to -459
degrees Fahrenheit. The National Institute of Standards and Technology-designed refrigerators, each
25 by 15 micrometers, are sandwiches of a normal metal, an insulator and a superconducting metal.
When a voltage is applied across the sandwich, the hottest electrons "tunnel" from the normal metal
through the insulator to the superconductor. The temperature in the normal metal d...

essentially tube-shaped molecules composed of 60 carbon atoms, and they measure about 1 nanometer in
length. These nanotubes exhibit some extraordinary properties that could have many uses. For

Chording, Wearable Computers And Cheaper Laptops

As a science fiction reader (and writer), the one gadget that I would love to see which isn't

and a glove, which allows one to 'chord'. Chording is brilliant, you make a letter by
combinations of finger presses, and other movements / gestures. So you can type one handed, nor do
you need a table. I suspect that chording never took off because people are inherently too lazy to
learn anything other than 'qwerty' unless they have to, which is why chording k...
