After changing web hosts a couple times I found http://www.hostingbest.com. If you don't mind using PHP 4 then they're an excellent host. They use cPanelX, mySQL, Postgresql, AwStats, & make managing subdomains easy. Over the last two years of service with them they've had little to no downtime and I've always had a fast load time. I found them by emailing a about twenty hosts with questions I had about their services and hostingbest responded quickly (same day, I think) to my email.

I've had consistently good customer service over the last two years and no problems (there might have been a DOS attack about a year ago, but I never noticed any significant lag time or downtime.) They're hosted outside of the US, but that hasn't affected their service at all. All in all, I recommend them highly.

I doubt "thier" hosting plans would be of any interest to most Astahost users.
Most of the people that are looking at this forum go with www.computinghost.com for their paid hosting.
