you can find websites in emails as well for example you could email your friend asking if they know what the website is, or they send you a link to a interesting website. another one is throuhg spam you get sent a piece of junk mail but the site it links to interests you. or if a friend used instant messagig to give a link to a webstie of interest.

You've also got great social bookmarking websites like delicious. Those are great for finding new websites.

there are different ways to find a website. some of them are listed here.
1. search engines. like google.
2. websites that offer lists of websites.
3. links in other websites.
4. fora about a certain topic.
5. advertisements in newspaper and brochures.

With highly developed search engines like google, people seldom need the other ways of finding a website of interest. All you need to do is to type the keyword related to the website. You not even need to know the address of the website or even a single word in the website address. For example I used a website for checking duplicate content on the internet. For quite a long time I did not use it so I forgot the web address. All i needed to do was to just type the search term "Duplicate content checker" and I got my website. The days of looking for websites in the web directories are old now. Very few people will use this method to find a website in which they are interested.
