bt I m truly nt able to run subtitles files for this format even after downloading and renaming as video file

I remember being able to use subtitle files with VLC media player. But I'm not sure if it works as well as the DirectShow filter you're talking about.

How to display subtitles when you are watching movies

There are many plug-ins you can use to display subtitle files, when you are watching Movies. 2-Run the Setup file to install VobSub v2.33

3-Now you need to download your movie subtitle file. There are two kinds of subtitle formats which the vobsub package can deal with:
* vobsub ripped: idx/sub[/rar]
