Sorry, but the install is strongly related to a given hardware. If you install Windows on a given PC and put the disk in another PC, you might experience a lot of driver mismatch problems, or even bad cpu type problems.

Can i format a laptop using only the separated hard disk? How To Erase Your Hard Drive

My Acer laptop's Windows XP crashed a week ago. I decided to reformat it using eRecovery, but first I retrieved the important data inside usingPuppy Linux. Later, when I restarted the laptop I couldn't openERecovery by pressing Alt+F10. I tried opening the laptop using PuppyLinux again and I saw the disk partitions were no longer there exceptFor CD drive only. Now I'm panic. What happened actually? What should IDo? Can I take out the hard disk and ask the computer specialist toFormat it? is there any other way?

Dell Inspiron 910 (Mini 9)How To Erase Your Hard DriveReplying to wooohoooGood Afternoon,I'vetraded a brand new Acer Lap Top including (5) Disk, and Warranty for aUsed Dell 910. I did not receive any Disk, Warranty Information,Instruction Manual. I am now in the process of learning about thisproduct. (Very Interesting) No, I'm not crazy. I did not care for the Acer experience and the Lap Top seemed Networked without my knowledge. Anyway; My question currently: Did the Dell Inspiron 910 ship with a "Recovery Disk" ? I was told it shipped with an Operating System Windows XP Installation Disk, A Resource Disk (Drivers & Utilities) and a Free Microsoft Works 9.0 Disk. I received None. TheDell Inspiron 910 is an Nbuntu-On-Factory-Installed- System. Nbuntuprovides a Linux based operating system and Recovery-back- to-Factoryfirst time use Disk. Once again, does the Dell Inspiron 910 (Mini 9)ship with a Recovery Disk to restore the Mini 9 back tofactory-first-time-use? Please Respond.Thank YouDeena

I'm only 12 and my laptop's getting fixed so the company gave me one to use until they fix it. I treat it with care, since I might get to keep it if they can't fix my laptop. I've come across porn and hentai sites by accident and my perverted friend keeps going to them, so I'm concerned about how my parents would react if the company told them or something like that. I need a easy, free way to wipe out my hard drive! It would be appreciated if you could tell me how to in a more simple way, I'm a computer geek, but not when it comes to what's inside my computer. :/

Erase or Wipe data completely from the hard driveHow To Erase Your Hard Drive

Formatting and deleting the existing data from the hard drive is not always safe. It is beacuse after formatting and deletion only the entries to the data in the hard drive is lost, data remains in the hard drive which can be easily recovered using any recovery software.I have gained this knowledge when once I have given my balnk hard disk to a friend and he recovered every thing from it that I have deleted.

So, before giving hard disk to anyone make sure that you remove every thing from it. Try, Wipe Mac software. It is very nice software that will earse all your data from the Mac hard drive completely that I assure.

All the Best!

HP System Recovery - Data Files???How To Erase Your Hard Drive

Hello, I recently performed the default system recovery on my HP media center computer. Before doing this I read the directions and indications and it said that in the normal default mode of system recovery the system will be restored to its factory shipped mode, all programs would be lost but NO DATA FILES would be lost. Is this true because now I cannot find any of my previous files??? eg: movies, pictures, excel files, music, etc... Where are my files now located?

overkillHow To Erase Your Hard DriveDiscarding a dead hard drive

If your computer has failed andThe hard drive is no good, you must destroy the hard drive beforeTossing it in the trash. Sophisticated tools can be used to recover theData on hard drives that no longer work. If you plan on recycling theComputer or putting it in the landfill (shame on you), you have toRemove the drive and carefully destroy it by whatever means necessary. You can remove the platters by opening the hard drive shell. WhetherYou plan on drilling holes in it, smashing it with a hammer or drivingOver it with your car, be sure to wear protective goggles and gloves.

very very much overkill

if someone found a HDD in  the trash

they usually wouldn't bother recovering it

even if they did how much information could be useful to them
