I would go check the flying spagetti monster religion instead. Thats for real geeks :)

So if you want religion with at twist - its there for you!

I must know. What is it all about. I have read alittle bit on it. But I'm sure it can be put in a short and simple explanation. So tell me, whats it all about. If your not even sure. Well. Tell me what you think it is. This should be fun. Maby educational. And could possible even be a little humorous.

scientology is not a religion it is a cult. they are tax exempt but they force you to donate millions to them and everything there cost moeny. children are forced to work long hours for little pay, adults don't get minimum wage. they hate peaceful protesters they start to follow you around if you speak up against them. thats why anonymous is protesting against them all of the policies they have. by the way in germany they are not allowed in because they view to look too like nazis doesnt that show you what they are really like.

I'm not sure I can do justice to this, but I'll take a shot at it. L. Ron Hubbard wrote SF. One of his more famous books was made into a movie as Battlefield Earth. According to Wikipedia: It was a major commercial failure and critical flop and has been widely dismissed as one of the worst films ever made. I was unaware of that, bought it on DVD for my son, who was 12 at the time, and concluded that it had {a} some scientific merit, {b} limited character development, {c} a simplistic but positive ending, and {d} about a grade of B- for its place in the Science Fiction genre. As a window into the mind of L. Ron Hubbard, it provides useful insight.

Scientology qualifies as a cult. People who get involved tend to "give" a lot of money to it, and often have great difficulty getting out. Scientology claims to have many secrets, and agressively defends them in court. People who have looked at their court actions conclude that Scientology spends a lot of money on good lawyers, and gets good courtroom decisions for it. Because of the tax-exempt status of a recognized religion in the U.S., they may have very good financial reasons for doing this. By now, Scientology is financially a very big (and presumably profitable) business. It is so big that it is giving national governments problems. For example, Germany has had run-ins with it.

I have been generally aware of Scientology for more than 30 years, having been introduced to it by a high-school girl friend. Since then, my perspective has changed, and I offer you these parting thoughts. Scientology started out as a small, quirky pseudo-scientific cult. It roped people in, but got them thinking along parallel lines. There are many other philosophies that better qualify as religions: Christianty, Judiasm, Bhuddism, Taoism, etc. It is my impression that Scientology is more successful than any other on this list, at getting its participants to think alike. There is one "religion" I haven't mentioned yet. It is Islam, and I am referring to radical Islam, which according to The Dunces of Doomsday has the active support of, or submission by, approximately 95% of Muslims.

There appears to be no force in the West that is remotely prepared to confront radical Islam. The Dunces the book refers to are primarily the U.S. Presidents from Carter to George W. Bush. Dunces makes a compelling case that neither the Presidents, nor their advisors, nor the "intelligence" agencies, nor their State Departments, have any idea at all what they are dealing with. Perhaps Scientology can be one small part of the Western response.

Scientology is a false religion for me. No offense, but I'm just telling the truth. Just look at the scandals that involves their organization.

In some way, all religions are "false", as I know not a lot of languages has the word religion except for Christians, most of major religions in the world are cults having a lot of people/members which fallow and believe in something, if you look at this kind of things quite in abstract way :) Churches make money from people too, not only different cults.. I'm not saying that religion is something not needed, I talked about this on the forum a lot of times, this was just an idea to look from another point of view. ;D

We aren't the only people who think this, too. Apparently some people at other sides of the internet, namely the group anonymous, are protesting against the church of scientology outside their offices and hacking their website.
Perhaps they should cease this silly religion now and stop a lot of trouble.

I never believed in Scientology for one moment. It all seems so silly - an alien who came to earth, murdered everyone, and filled their minds with 'false religions'. If it weren't for the fact so many follow it, I'd think it was a joke, like the church of the flying spaghetti monster. Come to think of it, where he says "judaism, christianity and other religions were implanted into the dead people's mind", is also somewhat offensive to other religions.

To be honest, the part that really makes me think "the religion is a scam" is how this L Ron Hubbard was a science fiction writer and scientology sounds like science fiction to me.

Well if you want to know what scientiology is, you should hear it from the founder itself, Ron Hubbard:

Writing for a penny a word is ridiculous. If a man really wants to make a million dollars, the best way would be to start his own religion

(some years before he started one himself)

MAKE MONEY. MAKE MORE MONEY. MAKE OTHER PEOPLE PRODUCE SO AS TO MAKE MORE MONEY

The main idea is to get other people into this "cult" and gain control first over their minds, then over their lives, their properties and their money. By exploiting their weaknesses, brainwhashing them and introducing new moral concepts, they take the followers to a state of slavery, subconciousness, and unawareness of what is going on around them. They apply psychological techniques of hypnosis and suggestion to create a state where they aren't capable of telling right from wrong, and will end up doing what they tell them to do - and believing this is good for them.
As with most sects and cults, they isolate people from the rest of their family, relatives, friends and society, and followers end up having only their "leaders" to trust, to listen to, to follow, and to obey.
This is very popular among celebrities, and it has survived the founder's death, because at later stages Hubbard in "delusions of grandeur" and a bit of self-brainwashing (he even wrote a "brainwashing manual") firmly believed that the new and greatest purpose of this "church" was to save the whole universe, to achieve higher key positions in governments and society to control the world and take it to "salvation".

When i read about this religion on wikipedia i almost pissed myself laughing,
U no that xenu, there supposed founder, came to earth on a Douglas DC-8, thats a friggan modern jet!!!!
and he looked a bit like a black version of doctor Zoidburg off Futurama.

and all this is comin from a sicience fiction writer who is probably on acid!

But if people belive in this sort of stuff good for them, they must have good amaginations!

PS. i also i think it might be a pyramid shceme, because they only seem to recuit wealthy ppl.
I havnt see them do their test thing on any hobo's or trailer trash, have you?
