I'll vote for Microsoft. Even though almost all my A/V equipment has the Sony emblem. I like the fact that the Xbox has had the ability to circumvent the OEM installed hardware. You can swap out hard drives, backup images, load it with a new image, save movies and games to you drive, so you don't have to worry about loading delays and scratching your precious games. I'm sure there is a way to do modding for the Sony.

I bought the 1st Sony Playstation Player when it was released in the states. From video game magazines at that era they had game genie, game shark, action replay, and other gadgets that made use of the In/Out (I/O) interface connector on the back of the unit. One of which was for Sony developers who made, tested, and programmed their games. Maybe you can google for images.

I would like a device which you can load/download additional software, interfacing themes, games, music, pics, videos, and other digital media.

Features I would like would be total wireless, 802.11x(abgn), bluetooth, 900MHz, 2.4GHz, inferred, remotes. So you can connect all kinds of devices (legacy and upcoming) and interfaces for HDMI, Gig-10Gig Ethernet, USB 3.0, media cardslots. And maybe something like A Sound Blaster's I/O Front panel.

In terms of graphics. Have like an external modular unit, hot swappable cards with integrated fans/coolers. With virtual reality like ATI like rendering (every gameplay screen renders different). So I can just just drop $300 each year on this every 2 years.

The BIOSes could be like solid-state image CF (400x) cards.

For console tune-ups. The unit could be shipped back to SONY/MICROSOFT, every 1 year, for custom modifications, chassis, RAM,processors, PSU, optical drives, etc.

Well I'm kind of dreaming off topic. Well that's what these discussions are for, to share ideas.

First Of all, Sony has its good sides and Microsoft has it's good sides as well, if you think about it, who is richer? Microsoft, Microsoft are so much richer than Sony is, sony has more contracts with game developers because Sony has been making consoles for the last 15 years or so, in terms of hardware, PS3 [ nVidia RSX ]does have better graphics @ 550mhz and Xbox 360 [ATi Xenos ] @ 500mhz, no biggie. Ok, So 1 for Sony, RAM? PS3 at 256MB Ram and Xbox 360 at 512MB Ram. 1 all, So what are you thinkin? RRoD? YLoD? Yes, Xbox 360's First Release was shocking back in 2005/2006 with their first consoles overheating and E74 Errors, this was because of the design and Microsoft are willing to fix it, they even extended warrenty. As For PS3 Yellow Light of Death, By what I've heard it's because either 'dust going into fans' or CPU and GPU Melting or something, Some of my friends have had the YLoD and 'Sony Wouldn't Fix it for them'. HDMI? ok, First off, Xbox 360 runs a minimum of 720p for any game, and PS3 Probably 1080p on all (if Possible) Yes PS3 has HDMI 1.3 and Xbox 360 Consoles after 2007 Had HDMI 1.2 (Don't know what the difference is) but... Xbox 360's Composite/Component cables displayed HD as well. Many people this: Ps3 is the new Wii?First off, Wii had the cool Disc thing where you put the disc in and it would swollow, then Wii added SD Card because Nintendo made it for Families to use. PS3 - Card Reader So you can see as much porno as you can.. Xbox 360 Says Who gives a donkey abot blu - ray, bet it's going to **** ass, but the amazing quality of blu-ray is outstanding... Think of it, Soon Developers are going to create "BIG" Games, and they are going to need "BIGGER" Capacity Discs , Dual Layers at 8.5GB, Blu Ray Single Disc is 25GB and Blu Ray Dual Disc are Blimmy 50GB, Which means, PS3 are going to get more games. But For Me.. Xbox 360 because Gears Of War is HARDCORE and SKY TV is The Bling

sony or mircosoft
Sony Vs Microsoft [ps3 Vs Xbox]

Sony has always kept their fans on their feet from game genres to other devices. Sony name said it all without no doubt the ps3 is the most powerful system out there. Microsoft may have the lead status but sony soon will follow and reclaim it place. Other than that the two consoles are great each have thier own weakness and strength.

I'll bet for PS3.

Always is the same history: Microsoft lauch first it's console and some people buy it because there is no competitors with its performance, but when new Sony's arrives, the Xbox practically dissapear from the stores.

I'm not exagerating if I say that I don't know where I could buy a brand new Xbox now in my city. But if you want a PS2, go to any supermarket and here it is.

although you have the quantity doesn't mean you have the quality :P Not all PS2 games were great. Some were. On the XBOX, there were a lot of great games but XBOX clearly had less selection.

If Sony can put out a solid PS3 system - no major bugs or problems - right from the start, then they'll have a big advantage over the 360.

Then again: if Microsoft doesn't concentrate on getting a better selection of games, they're going to have problems anyway once PS3 drops. That was what I really liked about the PS2: you had so, so many titles available, and they were good about rushing to make the most popular games cheaper.
