Scratch is for kids. If any grownup wants to try it then have no problem but will get more confused. It's not easy to be a kid, when you grow up. Besides designing and learning programming from it is not so easy as well. I tried to show the demo to many grown-up people. And they found it bit out of taste. So i showed them smallbasic. They learned that one quick and find it interesting. I think it's totally dependent on individual on how they want to learn.
Scratch is good for kids and school students. But for more learning python, smallbasic is way to go.

well their isn't really a source code. it is not a language that you type suck as. html. it is done in a program and is building block style. however ere are some links to some games done by yours truly. (and their are many many people better than me)

Looks cool, I can't imagine an 8 years old kid could create such nice things
.
Can you give some more info about sratch ? Maybe some example source code (if any is available) ?
I remember my first programming language was Visual Basic ... only thing I could do with it was adding some lame buttons to change the background color of my program

this is a language actually made for people 8 and older. it is very easy to learn and can be used to make some cool things. the site is scratch.mit.edu
I myself have created around 30 projects and am very young. anyone can learn and this is were to start if you want easy programming. this is by far the easiest language out of several i've tried. it's free and i suggest everyone try it!!!
