hmm, maybe windows vista will have something better. To transition to 3d will probally require a new way to display and contol your computer's input and output.

Downloading the movie atm.
But, my opinion won't change. Sorry, no, I don't want this stuff, I don't even want any virtual desktop software installed. It's annoying, alway searching where you have left your program, you can't see when something changes, ...
If you don't have the space to put a program, get another monitor, even if it's some cheap as thing.
When was the time that people were happy with MS-Dos
or Win3.1? Just plain and simple, small and fast.

Saw the video, it looks nice, ok, must admit it, but that's all. Seems kinda useless, this sounds stupid; the thickness of an application. I don't even think it would enhance the speed (time is money) at wich you can work, it's all just gimmicks.
But, that's what I think, time will prove whether I'm wrong or not, I'm willing to change my opinion, if I was wrong.

I have to agree that it looks awesome, but, I might stick to 2D for a while, because not only I don't really have that much computer power right now, but, even if 3D is nicer, 2D might be more efficient to work. Of course that, I can't have a final word until I've actually tried this 3D thing

Aston is a good one. it completely changes the desktop with 3D buttons and icons.
A cool one. It works best on my 256MB RAM.

that's pretty cool, thanks for sharing it with us. I like innovations

I must admit SphereXP is good, I have it. But it does take up alot of CPU power and RAM, even on a Athlon 64 3400+ with 1.5GB DDR400 RAM it's slow! (128MB ATI Radeon Graphics (on top of memory and 250GB HD).

The SphereXP is indeed available and is really quite fun to use. Try it out at http://www.hamar.sk/sphere/
I've been using it for quite a while now and I really like it. It's a great little toy, despite being underpowered for most tasks.

After watching the demo, I have to say that I like the idea. However, it could take some time to actually transition to a 3D desktop. Regardless, there's nothing wrong with a new idea or innovation.
