Replying to How To Remove Add To Windows Media Player Playlist

Ok, now I see what we are talking about. We are not talking about the right-side menu in Windows Media Player, we are talking about an option of the Windows file eplorer, when righ-clicking on a filename. Sorry, most of these options I also find useless, and I simply ignore them, except copy, paste, delete or scan with antivirus. I'm sure there should be a mouse setting menu somewhere, defining the actions on right/left/center click, somebody should have a look around there.

hehe no worries... but yea as i mention before, some of the Media Players prompt with these options during installation process... problem is when Windows does its updates it automatically adds its own

While the program is running, while you are using windows media player looking at a video, try ctrl-2, then back to ctrl-1.

i think i wasn't clear enough on what i'm after... when i right click a video file, the options comes up whether to open the file copy or delete or add to VLC Player playliset etc...

now there's one of the options saying add to Windows Media Player playlist, and i know i don't use Windows Media Player at all so i'm wondering how can i alter/remove some of those options

There are two display modes, the full mode has this side bar, the other mode does not have them. Go the the upper menu (files display, choose display, and choose the second mode). Ctrl-1 and Ctrl-2 are the shortcuts for these two modes, try them. Once you have chosen a given mode, the player will remain in that mode until you change it.

thanks Q, this add to playlist option does come with some of the softwares i have installed... which can be deselected during installation... only thing is Windows XP tend to add these to its default programs i guess (just did an update and i guess it added that when updating Win Player)

Don't really know how to do it, but I think it should be something with the registry, maybe there are some programs with GUI which will edit the registry? or maybe you could do it by finding the values through the registry using regedit? But be sure to backup your registry before doing anything with it.



Did a little search on google, TweakUI can do something like that, but most of my finding there the registry hacking, where you can add or remove items from windows context menu and even add any application you want, like Notepad.

How can i customize what is shown on the right click of the mouse?

I notice that there's an option for adding a file to Windows Media Playlist which i would like to be excluded from the right mouse click options because i never (and will not anytime soon) be using Windows Media Player...
