Ok yordan. Now that I'm aware, I will do as you told me to make another user...

Thank you again.

What should I do then?

Nothing special. I just wanted you to be aware that, being a Linux user is not a big protection. I told you how to install a new word spelling language, this is not harmful. But you could also have been on a malicious site, and a malicious request (like allowing cookies) would also have been accepted.
So, being under Linux is not enough for completely safe surfing. Probably creating a user with no privilege inside the guest group would be slightly better.

Just right click on a bad spell word, try to "Download More Dictionaries".
If you can add a dictionnary, this means that the user is able to change the browser settings.

I just tried to make wrong spelling on my forum and right clicked on it. And when I clicked "Add dictionaries", it allowed me to install
Dictionaries & Language Packs on Firefox Add-ons.

What should I do then?

Thanks for the tutorial...

I fix the computers at my wife’s place of employment frequently. Almost every repair has been centered around one of the employees clicking one of these fake antivirus programs. I suppose this might be a good thing if I got paid, but my work is purely charity. I have almost come to the point of making a clone image of a freshly rebuilt machine. When yet another one of these crapware infested machines graces me with their presence, I will just slap the known good image on the offending machine and send it on its way.

If you see one of these pop-us in your browser, don’t worry too much. It can’t do anything to you unless you allow an ActiveX script to run or download program and install it. If you are super paranoid, clear all of the browser cache, run your antivirus, and then reboot.

And are you root when connecte'd under Linux?

I am using a default account (the one I created during installation).

Do you have permissions on your FireFox settings?

How do I know if I have or not? Sorry but I don't know this thing.

Yordan was asking that question since it is possible to plant viruses over the web. Using a root account on linux will make things really easy. I am also running linux and when I need to browse something, I am using a lesser access account. This way when a virus find its way to install something, only my lesser access account was infected and I can removed totally the infected account.

For ordinary access like chatting or browsing random sites, I use my windows partition.
