How to increase Windows XP Explorer folder cache
Windows Explorer cache about 400 folders by default, but you can increase folders cache, for this 1- click Start menu > Run > and type “regedit” ( without quote) to run Windows Registry Editor 2- find and go to following key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam 3- Change the value of BagMRU to whatever size you want ( in hexadecimal ) For example: 1000 - 3e8 2000 - 7d0 3000 - bb8 4000 - fa0 5000 – 1388 --------------- Displaying Hidden Devices To showing hidden devices in Device Manager do following 1- click Start menu > Run > and type “regedit” ( without quote) to run Windows Registry Editor 2- find and go to following key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ ControlSet001 \ Control \ Session Manager \ Environment 3- create a new string and name “DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES” 4- Give it value of 1 --------------- How to format Partition larger than 32 GIGs with FAT32 file system Windows XP does not format a partition larger than 32 GIGs with FAT32 file system, if you have a Hard Drive with high capacity and need both Windows XP and MS DOS OS, do following Use a Win98 Boot disk and use FDISK command to create the partition (with Large Hard Drive Support) --------------- Removing XP boot logo Run MSCONFIG ,Click on the BOOT.INI tab ,Check the box for /NOGUIBOOT This post has been edited by miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG: Dec 2 2005, 07:44 PM |
