People that know what tacticalops is can skip this paragraph:
Tactical ops is a mod for UT, basically like counterstrike but some people say its better. The game has been through many stages and though its an old game, the community is still working on it to improve it based on what the community wants.
Now onto making the server!

First make a new install of TacticalOps, somewhere away from your original install, patch it to 3.40 then patch it to 3.50 (in that order). From now on i'll be referring to the file: TacticalOps.ini as the server ini file.

After you have installed a second copy of TO, you will need to download the newest TOST (Tacticalops server tools) which you can find here: http://tost.tactical-ops.de the current version at time of writing is: 4.3.5.1.

Next unzip all the files to a folder on your desktop, and open that folder - you wont be interested in the webstats folder yet, so ignore that and copy all of the .u files, navigate to your 2nd install of TO and paste them in the system folder.

Next open up your server ini file and:
underneath the:

[Engine.GameEngine]
section, add these entries:

where the other serverpackages are.

Also you will need to add these:

Scroll down to the bottom of your server ini file and add this section:

Some extra notes:
- The server query must be the first actor in the list
- Remove the ServerActors=TOSystem.TO_UDPServerQuery entry (if you haven't already)
- Remove ServerActors=s_SWAT.TO_UDPServerQuery entry (if you haven't already)
- Remove ServerActors=IPServer.UDPServerQuery entry (if you haven't already)
- Remove the ServerPackages=TOSystem entry (if you haven't already)
- Remove the ServerPackages=MidnightAssault entry (if you haven't already)
- Remove the ServerPackages=MATex entry (if you haven't already)

Now, open the TacticalOpsWinServer.bat, let it run untill it stops scrolling, then there you go, you will need to keep the bat file open to leave the server on.

If no one can connect to your server, and you have a *DSL or cable modem/router check www.portforward.com for info.

Q. Why does the console keep saying cannot load TOSTProtect?
A. Make sure you have specified the right version of TOSTProtect, especially after an upgrade of TOST versions.

Q. Why is everyone experiencing alot of lag, even if i'm on a 1mb upload line?
A. Check your server ini file for something called 'cachesize'. Set this about a hundred megabytes short of how much ram you do have.

Q. How do i login as admin?
A. Ingame type in the console: 'adminlogin password' where password would be your password. From there on you could type showadmintab or showgametab (all of those commands in the console) to show a graphical admin interface.

Q. What the? it keeps saying TOST43 file mismatch or similar when i try to join a server.
A. This is caused by you having a different version of the TOST43 file on your system. Simply search for it, delete it, reconnect to the server and it will download the missing file.
