I compiled this list consists of the most popular searched keywords using on some popular search engine:
Google.com http://www.google.com/press/zeitgeist.html They also have a list by country, by topics ... AOL.com http://hot.aol.com/ This consists of a chart of CURRENT hottest search keyword, updated every several seconds Yahoo.com http://buzz.yahoo.com/ A pretty detail statistics MSN.com http://www.imagine-msn.com/insider/ Flash website, cool to look at Ask.com http://sp.ask.com/docs/about/jeevesiq.html ... It seems the hottest topic overall last month was about hurricane, specially Hurricane Katrina. |

Is there a php script to automaticly update your keywords based on those lists. Would this help you or would google consider it cheating and ban you? Getting banned from google is WAY to easy

That really doesn't help with Google since it concetrates on the content of the website. When it comes to ranking, it would be quite hard to change anything by inserting these words. The only things that helps is having a website on a certain topic. However, you can easily get banned from Google AdSense if they discovere that you are trying to display ads which really don't have anything to do with the website's theme (by using these keywords).

The most commonly searched terms are those that relate to pornography!
This while sad is just what the internet is used for , then probably after that I would say it is gambling or poker related or possibly medicine of one sort or another, like Viagra. |

Eh, I just looked at it.
Doesn't look like much. Celebrities' names and lots of Myspace. I thought it would be something like "sex, xxx, porn" etc. Guess not. |

Getting banned from google is WAY to easy That would be considered cheating and Google will ban you, if they find out. I don't think it'd be usefull either because the bots don't scan your website every minute, it takes a while before they get back. It'd be better if you'd make content based on the popular keywords. |

QUOTE Is there a php script to automaticly update your keywords based on those lists. Would this help you or would google consider it cheating and ban you? Getting banned from google is WAY to easy Yes, you can do that with a php script, but why would you want to? I'm pretty sure Google would ban you. This isn't way too easy: this is cheating, plain and simple. Think about it. If you were searching for sites about a topic and all the sites near the top about that subject were about unrelated subjects, would you think Google's a good search engine? Evidently not. So google has to find some way to place the right sites at the top.Besides, I think Google doesn't place as much of an emphasis on keywords as it does back links. Because really, keywords are declared by the site creator, and as you just showed, can be changed at any time. But backlinks aren't as easy to change since they're declared by other sites. They're bound to be more accurate since it's not a single webmaster pimping their own site. ;-) QUOTE I thought it would be something like "sex, xxx, porn" etc. Guess not. |
