Well, as a matter of fact there are 2 tutorials in the tutorial section. My guess is that you didn't know the right keywords.
There basically are 4 ways to animate something in flash:
Shape tweening tutorial -- by Pfloria [url=http://www.astahost.com/motion-tweening-in-flash-t2437.htmlMotion tweening tutorial[/url] -- by Pfloria As for motion guide, I guess I could write an article 'bout that. |

I would highly suggest http://www.flashkit.com. They have many great tutorials, and also a huge amount of resources to browse through. They cover almost every aspect of Flash/ActionScript that you would ever need help with.
This includes topics such as:
These are just a few of the topics available at Flash Kit. I have used this site on many of occaisons. |

Okay you know how to use frames dont you well just do a drawing in each frame each one different in some way
This is an animation I put together http://www.geocities.com/totalgoreinc/Untitled-2.htm however mine needs a lot more work on it you have to put as much detail in to each frame as possible it you need help go on to http://www.biteycastle.com/content/lessons.php this guys ace on flash read his tutorials and then post what you make on here Good luck P.S there is an easier way by using motion tweens but dont use them their not as good as frame by frame so dont even start or it will become a bad habit p.p.s actually you can use motion tweens for fading and camera techniques |

Flash MX is a good software. I'm using it for some months now. Very intuitive and easy to understand. Actually I don't know any other flash software to be honest. And yes, there is a lot of websites with tutorials and examples: how to create a button, how to create an animation, adding sound, etc..
