As i am aware it is not currently avalible to recieve SMS on a mobile when you get a new e-mail. however Gmail does support POP3, which can be jsut as good if your mobile can read e-mail from pop3 mailbox's (like mine

No i dont want to go and check POP3 mail account. What all i need is whenever a new mail arrives in my GMAIL account an SMS should delivired to my mobile mentioning from mail id, subject, and brief body message in SMS. Without any user interaction these things should happen. One option is there we can send a email to our number on perticular mobile service and it will convert to sms and send it to related mobile. Can we use this option with GMAIL's auto forward option to get SMS on Mobile.
Or Any third party is providing this option or service. If any please, pease let me know. Thanks in advance. Arunkumar.H.G |

I wouldn't like to get lots of sms'es every time I get new message, after one or two days I think I would turn this feature off, because it would be annoying, of course if somebody does not get lots of mail and only personal or urgent mail, when this seems quite a nice feature, even though when Today through your mobile you can connect through gprs to your gmail account and browse the net just as easy as with your computer, but on a smaller screen without a lot of comfort, I usually just check the mail through Opera Mobile, gprs Internet on mobiles in my country cost really cheap, cents for megs and those sms messages are getting annoying too, I rather call instead, because it's also cheap. and faster to make things clear..

Forward
Gmail To Sms Inside the settings page on gmail you can choose to forward email to another address. You can use this feature to send it as a sms to your phone. All you have to do is find the email extension for your service provider. Verizon Wireless is vtext.Com for text vzwpix.Com for picture. I use the picture setting so that I can get 1000 characters of the email instead of just the 160 that the text would send. To find out the extension you would need to use just send a text or picture message from your phone to you email address by putting the email address where you would usually put a phone number. Then it would go like this your number@extension -reply by Asoc |
