I know that VB.net is proprietry to Microsoft sad.gif but is there a free IDE that has all the support that VB.NET has? I found one before but it just didnt support many of the things that VB.NET does such as timers which was really annoying. Does anyone know of any IDEs like this that support the same functions and features as VB.NET but without the rather hefty (Over priced, in my opinion) price tag? If anyone does then drop me a PM or a reply!

Thanks

Here you go:

QUOTE

SharpDevelop is a free IDE for C# and VB.NET Projects giving you a Visual Studio.NET like editor for your .NET Projects.

It has been out for quite some time, but rumor has it that it is much more stable and usable than previous versions so now may be the time to look at it if you are interested.

It is open-source, and you can download both sourcecode and executables from this site.

That's a very GOOD one and the only free one I know of.

There is a line of Visual Studio 2005 products called Express Edition that is free. The page says it is free for anyone to use for one year, although I don’t think they will start charging after a year. It is designed for hobbyist and students, and to overall promote Windows programming. I have been using VB.NET Express 2005 for about three months now and I think it is an excellent product. Everything you need to know is here http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/
