The forum was down during almost two days. No way posting, got SQL errors. So I could not post. However, I lost credits, this was probably the case for everybody.
Fortunately, only the astahost forum was down, all the hosted databases worked fine. Thanks for that, my site was never down.
However, I wanted to post at Astahost forum in order to obtaim some credits, I could not. Even more, I lost credits. How will that be solved ?
Will everybody will credited with three days credit because of the three days database down ?
Regards
Yordan

P.S. By the way, I am simply kidding. Nobody posted during these three days, so no new posts came, so nobody asked questions, so I could help nobody, so I had nothing helpful to be said, so I could gain no posting credits!

hmm ... seems like a problem for the admins to decide yordan ..

Actually to think about it .. even if they decide to give credits for 3 days .. i might be one @$$ who would come up and say "hey .. in 3 days i would have posted 15 topics" .. so i guess tht would cause alot of misinformation .. i duno .. probably it should be left the way it is ..

One nice long useful post on bitc*ing about M$ would give you like 5 credits wink.gif .. lol..

Dhanesh.

Well you can imagine that with your post now you probably got part of the 'lost' credits. =)
But I don't think it's a big deal, unless for somebody who had an alarming number of credits, and would need to post these days because of his hosting being in danger, let's say.

I don't think yo'll get anything, unfortunately. It seems this credit system was probably designed so that they could just sit back and let the forum work and people view the ads. After all, I hear it can take months to get hosting confirmed. On the other hand, it would just be a matter of a few clicks to give credits to those with hosting, so maybe if you emailed them you could get it, but posting and complaining about it could earn you more (like 5 credits) smile.gif.

You are right, the forum was down during two days so anybody cant post and read anything, and as a result of this everybody lost credits. Hopefully all the member sites regain active and in my case i dont loose any data, i hope that this happens to everybody.

I got the mysql error code 127, does everybody got the same error code???? i think that this situation is probably related with some kind of system upgrading.

Some of these Topics / sub topics dont have credit counts. If u see on top of this page ..

Free Web Hosting > Others > TEST (NO POST COUNT) > Forum Down Three Days, Will The Credits Come Back ?

I agree that some have loads of credits stored in, so they dont need any extra credits given to them for 3 days. But the point being that Asta is a community that is based on a clean, technical and professional user base, makes a lot of difference, than just credits.

and Pharoah .. About Hosting being approved, well its being told many times in the shoutbox and as well as in a few posts, Admins accept hosting requests, but the admins arnt just automated scripts .. they have a personal life of their own, and they dont sit on the forums all day. But rest assured that your hosting request will be reviewed soon smile.gif

The credit system was designed in a way everyone would benefit .. If your hosting wasent approved, i dont think it would be right to blame it on the admins or the credits, but rather you should check with a moderator. Probably your request was put for second evaluation because the mods are confused what to do. I bet you have made like 15 - 16 posts in one day and collected like 30+ points and applied for hosting .. In some cases most of the posts made are spam, and most of them are just pointless. So, i'd suggest you hold on .. and wait for the admins to aprove your request ..

I .. including 500+ hosted members here have no complaints before of after we got hosted. It took a month before i got hosted, and even after i did, i bugged the admins and mods for small changes in my user profile etc .. they were still helpful. All in all .. i would request new members not to mislead anyone. If its that much of a problem .. start a topic and ask .. atleast u'd get credits for that wink.gif ..

Now this is one big @$$ post .. and i dunt get credits for it .. biggrin.gif .. moral of the story .. in time you will realize that more than just hosting .. good informtion and community are more inportant .. hope your hosting gets approved soon smile.gif

Regards
Dhanesh.

No, i just applied. What I meant was that it's a way of keeping track of earnings for the owners (because the point of the forums for Asta is the ads). If you're not seeing the ads, it makes it easy to delete you. I'm not trying to insult the admins, just saying that it was to reduce work, not create arguments like u said smile.gif

To answer everyone's question, NO!

There will not be any credits given for the three days the board was offline.

Why would we give you credits? You didn't do anything to earn them! I know you didn't do anything to earn them because nobody could post!

As for the credits you lost during that time, I'm not sure what to say!
Perhaps you don't understand the system! You earn credits by posting and you lose credits for hosting!

If I don't go to work tomorrow, I still get an electric bill! Especially if I continue using electricity while I'm not working! Your ability to post does not in any way effect the deduction of 1 credit per day that you have hosting.

If you were in a situation where your hosting was interrupted due to the fact they you fell below 0 credits, sorry! I feel real bad for you. I would feel even worse if it wasn't your own fault. It says right there on the index right below the shoutbox that we recommend maintaining a minimum of 10 credits to prevent interruption of service due to unforeseen problems.

Basically, you arguments are base on fuzzy logic and have no merit as a result.

If you have any further questions about this matter, please feel free to keep them to yourself cause I'm not interested.
