I used the website (forgot the name) to change http://www.gamingplanet.astahost.com to www.gamingplanet.org. It said Domain Changed successfully, but when I tried it it doesn't work. I'm not sure if the domain just needs time to load, so I'll post again in a day or two if it still doesn't work.

Something is EXTREMELY wrong! I did the domain upgrade, and it said it was successful. The credits were deducted, and everything looked good. But I can't open my website via www.gamingplanet.org; I can't access my Control Panel AT ALL, and when I try to load my website via www.gamingplanet.astahost.com, my website is GONE and a completely weird 'cPanel' website comes up! What do I do?! I don't care about the domain, I just want all my work back!!

First, you entered extra "www" for the domain name making it www.www.gamingplanet.org. I was able to change it back and notice the second problem.

Do you own or control this domain? According to whois information the nameservers are not set to AstaHost.

Please change nameservers to:

ns.computinghost.com
ns2.computinghost.com

Currently, the domain we're speaking of is set to:

NS1.NMCDEVELOPMENT.COM
NS2.NMCDEVELOPMENT.COM

Once you have done that, wait up to 72 hours to propagate.

I don't know how to change the nameservers... I can't access my Control Panel! Also, sorry for the extra www - I didn't know I wasn't supposed to put it.

At least you own the domain name? Who is your registrar (the company you used to purchase your domain name), i.e. Yahoo, Godaddy, Xidomains, etc?

Nameservers are changed through your domain name's control panel--not through your cpanel control panel. If you do not know how to change, simply contact the domain name registrar and request some assistance.

If you cannot change your nameservers you cannot use that particular domain name with your AstaHost account. sad.gif

Dang, okay, thanks. I'll try some stuff out now. Hopefully it'll work - if not though, can you simply erase anything I've done and make it work with the subdomain again? I don't really care about the domain - I just want my website back. It wasn't that much money anyways.

Previous sub-domain name restored. This is the only time it will not cost you any hosting credits.

Next time please inquire with FAQ and the forum before making changes.

Thanks, but why is that cpanel page still on my website?

Sorry for bothering you more, but I wanna get my site back :S.

Edit: Nevermind, it's fixed. Thanks SO much for all your help. I'm sorry about being a pain.

No pain at all, really. I am concerned that you could have saved your hosting credits that's all.

Sometimes you'll see the cpanel or apache default page during or right after a domain name change. smile.gif
