Can you tell me which is the best FTP client for uploading a large website like PHP Nuke / Post Nuke??? I used to use Core FTP lite but it crashes, and in cute FTP (evaluation) when the timeout is broken, the whole queue is broken and I need to do things individually. Is there any nice program (free) which does things with out needing any manual interference???

I like FileZilla from http://filezilla.sf.net
It's Open Source for Windows and they also created an FTP Server, which is great too if you want to share files. From memory it supports SSH2 so you can also use SSH if you wanted too. Cheers, MC |

Yeah, I think WS_FTP Professional would be the best FTP client for you because it is more quick and reliable. There are no trial limits. Just go to download.com and search for WS_FTP. It doesn't really matter which one you download, WS_FTP Pro/the usual one. I have used WS_FTP and it has worked really good, it connects to the server much more quickly too. Hope this helps.

Yeah Ws_FTP Pro is the best!!!!!!!!!!!
You can do everything in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But, always search for simplicity.. if your trying to upload or download something small.. use your browser ftp... you can surf the site as a windows folder (sorry linux os's, i don't know how is it for u)... But, if u got the money, WS_FTP!!!!!!!!!!! |

I've been using the free version of WS_FTP (WS_FTP95 LE) for years now. I've never had any issues with it. I never even bothered to try any other out because it always did what I needed it to. If there is a good reason to try something else that can be had for free I might give it a shot but otherwise I'm sticking with what I know for a long time yet.

I've been using Filezilla for quite some time now and except the problems I've had at the begining when I made some mistakes in installing it, everything worked very well and fast.
PS: I will give a try to WS_FTP since I saw u all consider it a very good client. Hope ur right

if you are uploading cms etc, you can upload zip, and then unzip it by php on your serwer - it is good way
I use FTP editor - it allows you edit files by ftp (i was using alsow windows commander, but it was annoying :] ) |

WS_FTP is the best out there as far as I know. I've been using it for a few mins now, now problems so far.
