have u guys ever heard of Avant Browser....

its a cool browser, its codings are the same with internet explorer(so it dont need additional plug-in downloads) , the only thing different is that it opens pages in tabs , just like in firefox.....

and it had been approved that it is faster than Internet Explorer 7...

try it ur self...

IE is bloated enough without useless features being added onto it. It's worse than the BT Yahoo! browser which is also based on IE, and trust me when I say that's saying something.

If my memory serves me correctly, I have used it for a short period of time several years ago. I could call it a temporary phase, because that is the browser I switched to after being completely irritated with Internet Explorer. Avant browser was good, but as soon as I installed Mozilla Firefox, there was only one option left for Avant - uninstall biggrin.gif

I think a seen a few topic about it, but I paid no mind to it see I use only IE and firefox, but it seems to be an outdated browser and not worth using in terms of developing sites for.

Don't worry, if your site works in Internet Explorer, it works in Avant Browser.
Yes, Avant Browser is a good browser for addons, RSS, etc for all users, especially for users that cannot upgrade to Internet Explorer 7. A new update was just released a few days ago, Avant Browser 11.5, build 8.

What I find in Avant Browser that is great is that the options are WAY MORE CUSTOMIZABLE than in Internet Explorer. Also, you have an option of signing up for free storage (may not be a huge benefit, but...). It also allows you to test pages in the browser without worrying about IE crashing. wink.gif

I use Avant Browser rarely, but I do use it to play Shockwave games occasionally.

There are more browsers which are using the IE engine, as we know it, it is called Trident layout engine for IE.. Even non browser software can use it, as it is easy to integrate it, same as most of the layout engines.. Anyway, I also tried Avant browser and Maxthon (known as MyIE2) but as I never browsed with IE, I just tried them to see it with my own eyes, so if your site works with IE, it will work on those browsers too.. wink.gif

Waw, Avant Browser. Used this years ago before I even knew Firefox properly.

It was a nice browser 'extention' or 'frame'. It was definitely a huge improvement over IE. But the problem is, it's built on the IE engine. I really recommend you try out Opera (fast/easy) or Firefox (also fast and easy, with a giant library of extensions for extra features).

Yeah i also recommend you try out opera. It doesn't waste space on useless features and basically crams in as much as it can to create an awesome browser that has a wide range of support for different sites as well as built in email, even irc. It doesn't use up too much memory so you can easily have it open running all the time. It is damn fast too, it's worth a try out.
