David, if the connection drops on all computers simultaneously, then try using the crash recovery method flash the 1.05 firmware. Download the firmware 1.05 from the link given below. http://support.dlink.com/products/view.asp...ductid=DI%2D524.

To crash recover:

Step 1 Unplug the power from the router.  Hold in the reset button and plug the power back in.  Continue holding for 10 seconds and then release.

Step 2 Statically assign an IP address to your computer in the same IP subnet range: 192.168.0.x where x is any number between 2 and 254. Your Subnet Mask should be 255.255.255.0.

Please visit the link given below for screenshots in assigning static IP.
http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod...stion=static+IP

Step 3 Open Internet Explorer and browse to 192.168.0.1. You should see the crash recovery page. Browse to the location of the firmware on your hard-drive and click the send button.

Your router should now be stable and ready to configure.

Please visit http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod_id=979 if you are unable to visit the web configuration.

If the issue persists, you may be experiencing trouble with a feature known as UPnP™. This feature allows Windows XP and Me machines to remotely open necessary ports for Internet Applications. You may try disabling UPnP (on the router as well as your computers) to see if this cures your reset woes. Log into the web-based configuration, access the Tools page, then the Misc. button. Choose the disabled button next to UPnP. Click Apply. You should no longer experience the frequent resets.

Should you require further assistance with your D-Link products, please reply to this message, or call toll free at 877-453-5465.  Thank you for networking with D-Link.

I tried all of it!

wrote them again and got this:

We understand that you are unable to maintain a stable link to the internet through the DI-624_revC. This is probably happening because the router is rebooting itself for some reason as a result of which the link between the router and your PCs is lost for a brief period of time.

** Refer the following FAQ that addresses this specific issue :

http://www.support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?...question=reboot

In case the issue persists, we would recommend a firmware upgrade in order to correct the situation. Refer the following FAQ for a detailed step-by-step instruction guide on carrying out a firmware upgrade :

http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod...estion=firmware

This should help you complete the firmware update successfully. Upgrading to the latest firmware is what we recommend. If you happen to have the latest firmware installed, reflash the same once anyways. Another option would be to update the firmware on the router to earlier version. Note that all earlier firmware versions are available for download at the following link :

ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/

Hopefully, this should be all that you need to do in order to see your particular concerns addressed.

In the case that the above mentioned steps fail to provide you with the desired result, it would be best for you to speak to a live technician using the following contact information :

877-45D-Link (877-453-5465)

They would be able to help you out best as regards further instructions.

Any inconvenience caused is duly regretted.

Should you require further assistance with your D-Link products, please reply to this message, or call toll free at 877-453-5465.  Thank you for networking with D-Link.

Sincerely,
