I don't know how to help you...
But I am wondering- how do you get Gmail to host you? Where's the signup? Was it limited or something? |

QUOTE Where's the signup? Was it limited or something? Yeah, Gmail's sign up is limited. You can only sign up if you get invited by a friend who has a Gmail account. I could invite you if you want. @boetaw, doesn't the webhost at Google have a domain redirection kind of thing? If all else fails, you can make an email account at your domain and then go into the settings in Gmail and tinker with them until you get all the mail from the domain account forwarded to your Gmail account. Or the other way around if you wish. QUOTE I now have email minzawaung@minzawaung.uni.cc but I can't sent message. Wait..but technically that email's not connected to Gmail at all. Gmail's email service is separate of whatever domain email you get. I think forwarding all mail to one account is easiest...but maybe there are other ways to redirect. |

QUOTE(boetaw @ Mar 28 2006, 12:24 PM) Hi I am newbe to this forum and I am not good at English. So I made some mistake pls forgive me. I got hosted gmail account from google https://www.google.com/hosted/minzawaung.uni.cc I already have domain http://www.minzawaung.uni.cc How I connect my domain and gmail account. to work email ----@minzawaung.uni.cc I now have email minzawaung@minzawaung.uni.cc but I can't sent message. I am very poor in knowledge about that. Can anyone help me? Hi, I checked your domain and have found out that you are just using a free redirection/domain mask and the real domain page you have is http://minzawaung.googlepages.com this is a big problem since in order for you to have emails like ----@minzawaung.uni.cc you need to have control on the minzawaung.uni.cc domain which is i think you dont have as of now.. the first thing to make things work is that to set the MX records in the domain.. tech stuff.. the MX record is part of the DNS structure which tells the domain where to send the email and what emails to accept. I guess that Gmail is doing its job sending emails to ---@minzawaung.uni.cc and all of them now are hanging or being returned to the sender since uni.cc domain does not know what to do about them. our astahost accounts here once hosted have a MX entry setup that enables us to have ---@member.astahost.com emails. that is the reason why even if we are on a subdomain, the main host/domain still now what to do with the emails that we sent and receive from our subdomain accounts here.. Hi, sorry for the double post but i have signed up for an account at uni.cc There was a DNS service in un.cc --- Select DNS service from your domain controller then select configure or next. I never paid attention on the button anyway. After being brougth to the DNS configuration system: Check "A" and "MX" (at UNI.CC' DNS) This will bring the MX controller Info for your main domain. Main server IP address: <-- this is the IP address of the mail server [put here the IP of the DNS that gmail provided] Mailserver name: <-- no idea what this was but the default value was your dubdomain. On higher level domains this is only for identification. They also have an external name server setting --NS (For external name servers)-- On high level domains, this is used to join server accounts from other hosting company. This is the method i used in the past to have a webiste that have IIS, Apache and a Tomcat. People never stop asking how i have done it becoz they think they are all in one hosting. =) sorry if the post is unclear.. just that my browser wont support the formatting GUI of the forum so i can use that tools.. |

QUOTE How I connect my domain and gmail account. to work email The beta-test google program makes that work : your domain will offer gmail, hosted by gmail. Your domain only host your website pages, and gmail hosts the mails. You just have to sign in, and they ship you the program to activate this. QUOTE Gmail for your domain is currently available as a limited beta. If your organization is interested in helping Google test this service, we'll consider your domain for this beta. (from Gmail for your domain is currently available as a limited beta. If your organization is interested in helping Google test this service, we'll consider your domain for this beta. ) Of course, here, you are hosted by astahost, you don't need to add gmail. |

I am having the same problem here so I am opting for Astahost for space! I need to change the MX settings and the place where I have space is awardspace.com and they are not allowing mail for free users. So signing up with gmail hosted stuff don't wok.
I even bought Managed DNS Service from my domain registration host but I need to set it their nameserver so I wasted some money there too |

Google Apps It's really cool and the email is just like being able to use a GMAIL account for youremail@urdomain.ext. Microsoft has a similar product through its Windows Live.. Its located at http://domains.live.com/ . Ive tried that but was unable to get it work. |

I tried signing up for google. Havent got any response yet. Windows Live is pretty straightforward. But Google seems to be offering better services...
Lets see if i get a reply from them. |
