There are so many topics already about this subject, why you didn't read them first? They would have answered you.

Anyway, I'm gonna tell you one more time:

If you already are a bit familiar with programming you could try C++, but you also could try GameMaker. It has a own language called GML. It's pretty much a stripped down version of C++ so if you think GML isn't good enough for you anymore you can easily step over to C++. Check the GameMaker site: www.gamemaker.nl.

Start out learning Visual Basic. From there you will learn Simple C++ and then you can go into Java, Then Advanced C++. It is how I am learning right now, I am halfway into making a game in JAVA.

Wow, that's quite a smart way. Maybe you should better learn GML instead of VB since it's more similar to C++ I think and you'll probably easier step over to C++ after GML but that's yours to decide.

No problem tongue.gif , one more thing; where did you learn it? Any books or sites you can recommend? I'm very interested and so are the rest of the game programmers here I think smile.gif

Interesting topic, and thanks for the game maker link. I didn't know a program like this existed. I'm interested in learning some advanced c++ and some java, but I'm currently on dial-up. That means that downloading java is out of the question, and I'm not sure on game making. Maybe this will give me some insight. Also, when I go to start into c++ how do I actually get started with visuals. So far I've really only done your typically cout, cin programs. Do you have to download some kind of extension or plugin for c++/java and if so, what are they and where can you find them?

will it work? Think what you will answer because it can change my PC-life-way. And is it very long to learn one thing? And is Pascal very different language(like c++)(Pascal I will must know at school)? ohmy.gif
